Product Release: NTE Suite™ Version 7.0Date Released: 9/5/2009As part of our continuing efforts to improve on the outstanding quality you have come to expect from NTE,
we will be upgrading our production application environment to provide the latest software enhancements for all NTE customers
and products. Please be aware that ONLY the private exchange systems including NTE TMS™, NTE WMS™, NTE OMS™, and NTE Rapid Rater™
will be affected. These systems will be temporarily unavailable on Saturday September 5th from 10:00 p.m. CST to Monday, September
7th 3:00 a.m. CST. The timing of this upgrade should not affect your business processes.
This release includes the following enhancements:
Enhanced Accessorial Functionality
Advanced Accessorial Charge Computation based upon Weight, Distance, Hours, etc... or a combination of these factors, with Minimum/Maximum Charge possible for each Accessorial.
Entry of Accessorials by Check Box (Yes/No) or by Quantity.
Accessorial selections now available in Shipment Entry (both Single Page and Advanced).
Accessorials specified in a Rapid Rater Quote carried into Submit Shipment for Execution.
Additional Accessorial charges specified post-Execution calculated by the Rating Engine.
List of available Accessorial selections customized for each Shipping Community.
Single Page (Simple) Shipment Entry Enhancements
Entry of multiple Content lines.
Entry of Accessorial selections.
Optimization Scenarios
Ability to run multiple Optimization Scenarios simultaneously and choose the best results for further use.
The user defines the number of scenarios and values for each scenario parameter.
Each scenario can be defined using a different set of parameters for the same optimizer or a different optimizer.
Our next product release will provide an interface allowing the user to manipulate parameters and re-run scenarios.
Optimization Pooling
Ability to define locations as pooi points or cross docks.
Ability to assign pool points to specific locations.
Additionl of Pooling as a parameter to the optimization scenarios. This forces the use of pooling where applicable for a single scenario.
Enhanced Navigation between Planning/Execution/Freight Bill
Executed Shipment has Link to Planning (Plan Shipment). This allows the user to quickly return to the original planned shipment created prior to execution.
Executed Shipment has Link to Freight Billing. This allows the user to see the carrier's freight bill for this shipment.
Dock Scheduling
One of our customers requested this enhancement to be added to the shipment entry functions within the TMS product screens. We have expanded our WMS functionality to now include dock scheduling that can be used by anyone who currently has access to update appointments. This new feature enhances our existing calendaring system used for determining the execution hours and dock hours during shipment planning.
PC*Miler Enhancements
Each Shipping Community can now select a specific version of PC*Miler (from 18 through the current version), along with Routing Type (e.g., Practical or Shortest).
Additional Routing Options are now available, such as Toll Avoidance and No International Border Crossing.
This release includes the following enhancements:
Enhanced home page allowing the user to customize the displays of one or more graphs of key data. The user defines this key data using our existing stored query functions with which they are already familiar.
Manual Pooling: The latest addition to our manual optimization features is the ability to break a shipment into two legs by adding a pool point to a list of shipments. Later versions will include automatic distribution center determination by lane.
Generic spreadsheet allowing users to load consignments into the system for general rating, optimization, and/or execution.
NTE has redesigned the underlying database structures to allow all applications within the NTE framework to use the same address book. This conversion is now completed. All entries are combined into a single address book. This new structure allows us to link all our products across a single address structure so that warehouse locations can be used in the TMS and distribution centers for pooling can be given unique attributes. Future applications will be provided to take advantage of this new structure shortly.
Community owners can now have visibility into all the carriers that 3PL partners bring to the table instead of simply executing to the 3PL itself. This provides visibility into the pickup carrier and allows mixing of multiple 3PL partner rates in a single lane. This feature ties into the external rating engine capabilities released in the last version of the product. Those capabilities allowed communtity owners to include external rating engines as sources of data in their routing guides. These external engines can be integrated using standard HTTP XML or .NET Soap interfaces.
