Solution Components

NTE’s Solution is comprised of four modular components deployed on the NTE Platform: Order Management, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management and B2B Collaboration. Each component can be utilized independently to manage a single segment of your supply chain, or they can be used together to provide a full end-to-end supply chain solution. You decide how to configure the components to meet the needs of your supply chain.

Solution Principles

Development of the NTE Solution has been driven by the guiding principles of visibility, accuracy and adaptability. By always keeping these principles in mind, NTE has been able to provide robust, on-demand solutions that meet the needs of small, medium and large Fortune 500 companies.

Visibility - Corporate direction requires knowledge, which is based upon information. NTE’s Solution provides three forms of data never before gathered together within the same tool with so little impact on existing systems. First, it is a repository of your data. Since everything within your supply chain can flow through NTE, we provide a consolidated location for corporate supply chain data collected from disparate systems. Second, it provides visibility into the detailed history of changes to this data while it exists within the NTE Solution. Any change made to this data is tagged with pertinent information such as the user, application, date and time of the change, along with snapshots of the record before and after the change. Third, NTE’s Solution is an event driven system and thus contains data about your supply chain that is created by the system itself. Information showing how your partners interact with your supply chain is vital knowledge you may not have captured before. For example, it can tell you how often carriers ignore shipments in specific lanes or how quickly carriers take shipments in other lanes, giving you information about their habits and preferences.

Accuracy - Computer systems may never think independently but they can systematically execute a set of rules based on standard input with great accuracy. NTE’s Solution modules are designed with the ability to configure and customize a set of rules that identify the normal behavior of your supply chain. Since the Solution handles these normal situations automatically and accurately, it is only the exceptional cases that require human intervention. For example, once a carrier bid is defined and loaded into the NTE Solution, you can be sure that the system will accurately carry out the rules of your bid and provide fair and equitable opportunities to all your carriers based on your definitions. You can always override a rule and handle carrier executions manually – but the system will identify this event as an exception and reports will handle this differently than the normal execution of loads. These concepts apply equally to all Purchase Order, Warehousing/Distribution and B2B Collaboration activities as well.

Adaptability - No two customers are alike, yet no customer wants to reinvent the wheel. NTE’s Solution allows its customers to look vastly different, yet there are no costly customizations. The main principle behind the object-oriented designs of the NTE system are the ability to configure each and every module with a set of rules and attributes that allow the customer to pick and choose which areas of the system they want and how those areas will be used. The web skin of the NTE’s Solution will have your colors, logos, menu items, vendors, customers, partners and rules. You own this configuration and it is your website. As new features become available for the use of one customer, all customers are given the opportunity to use this new feature without costly upgrades and rollouts. Since NTE wrote 95% of the system and has invested tens of millions of dollars into its design and development, we can provide customization without the need to contract partner companies to do the work and thus keep our customers’ costs down and delivery time high.

Business Intelligence (BI) - NTE provides two BI solutions to access the data warehouse, and enable effective, data-driven decisions. One is for execution and light analytics while the other provides advanced analytics. Both offer data, and graphica display of data distributed via web interface, automatica at login, automatic to email, or raw data in spreadsheet format. You can easily share accurate, time-sensitive information to effectively monitor performance, plan collaboratively, drive business decisions, and take actions. The BI solution is a scalable, secure and transparent part of the NTE platform.
